You won a leadership award 10 years ago… are you still a leader? Maybe.
It’s a funny thing. They never call a president that’s out of office an ex-president. The honorific still exists, for a lifetime.
Whelp. We don’t get that same experience, we need to earn leadership each day.
I understand, some people might think it’s hard to maintain leadership because you’re not a leader by nature.
However, when you’re in business for yourself… you’re it. You’re the leader and others are looking to you for your experience and credibility.
We talk about posting regularly as a means to gain a following and thus improve your leadership. But, what else does can you do?
One idea is to provide fact sheets online. This does two things… You’ll gain email followers and you’ll gain search engine love.
First, you need a topic people are looking for. People who visit our site for the marina are looking for great places to have a bachelorette party.
Second, make a fact sheet — just a one page download that someone would want to download. With our bachelorette party, something useful will be items to bring on a the boat for your bachelorette party.
Third, integrate your email provider to collect the email in exchange for the fact sheet.
Finally, make a webpage that highlights how awesome your fact sheet is with enough information so the search engines love it!
This is an excellent way to build your leadership and credibility with your tribe. Fact sheets are amazing – they build your list and build the bond with the tribe.
