Does Grandma like to see you once a week, once a month, or once every 5 years… Well the answer is… depends on the grandchildren… hahaha!
OK, bad example… how about piano lessons? I never took piano lessons but I recall friends that viewed lesson time as torture!
It was hard or me to figure out why someone would take piano since they hated practicing and going to lessons. I might be bringing up bad memories for some of you! But, in the case of my friends they never practiced, thus, their lessons were bad. I’m sure their teacher was disappointed and let them know!
Well guess what… the teacher wanted success for the student. That’s it.
The frustration comes from the teacher wanting the success more than the student. Have you ever felt that way? Have you ever been the student and wondered why the teacher had so much passion? YES!
We can think back and see that time when we just didn’t want to be a beginner or do what we were told. I mean there’s vegetables, curfew, budgets… lots and lots of rules.
Well, rules are just daily guidelines. They’re in place to get you into consistency! Without the budget you’d be broke, without the veggies you’d be unhealthy, and without the curfew (you’d have fun).
The ability to make a blog post once is easy! I mean really easy… but the ability to make a blog post consistently, that’s like veggies!
You know it’s good for you, you know you owe it to your readers, and you know that if you get into the habit it will be come easier… yet the though is like your old piano days. UGH.
If you really want to make your Infinity Marketing Machine work you’ve got to be home on time, eat the carrots, spend within your means, and sit down at your piano bench and practice. OR make your calendar of posts, find interesting things to share with your tribe and ultimately DO IT. Write the posts.
I speak for what I write… I made a commitment a one year ago (4/4/17) to post every day, Happy to say… I did it! WOO HOO. There were a couple days when it was a chore, I couldn’t figure out what to talk about, but I wrote something. It can be done. You have to make the decision to do it.
