Monday – Subject Matter Expert

Last year our family marina was recognized as National Marina of the Year.  It was such a neat award to win.

This year one of our colleagues won the award!   Funny thing is… we just finished the Minneapolis Boat Show and they are located right next to us!

I took a photo today to show you how to utilize an award in your marketing!

I’m in the process of writing a small guide on how to effectively use an award in your marketing, but a couple things to notice… utilize the logo!   Last year our booth also had large yellow banners, I would have used them again this season, however our close proximity to the current winner changed my plan.

But we do use the logo on or brochures, website, and banner outside of our building.  This logo becomes an identifier.  If your award doesn’t have a specific logo… create one.  It’s OK if you do…  whether it’s a ribbon, star, or even the leaves style.  Give your audience a consistent vibe.

You worked hard for your award, make sure to get recognized for it!  It’s OK to share the good news.  When you’re building a tribe, they take pride in being part of an organization that is recognized for quality!

Your action step is to identify awards in your industry and position yourself so you are able to compete.  Do this, you’ll be happy you did.
