When do you increase advertising and when do you hold back?
That’s an amazing question that I’d answer by saying it totally depends on your business. You’ve got to do what is best for your tribe.
The reason I mention this was a post I saw today as I was scrolling… it actually stopped my scroll.
The ironic part is they are reducing their “giveaway” because they are doing a shelter-in-place. And that’s good. But the questions going through my head are what type of giveaway would be stopped in this type of social climate?
Right now your audience is craving leadership (and distraction) from you. Any message that involves hope and forward thinking is welcomed.
So… in this cases the irony caught me in that they had the ability to create a post during the shelter-in-place… the post essentially says, we can’t do what we normally do… but that normally do thing is not a face-to-face meeting – it’s a giveaway.
Granted, I suffer from knowing what their previous giveaway was… quite possibly it would have been a stop in our store and get a free thing…
Regardless, the online community is active and alert.
This is the perfect time to create a 1 page PDF download and twist your “giveaway” to an instant download.
Just some fun options to help people look past their day to day reality and get them focused on the future. It’s a great way to build loyalty and get them to bond with you and can bring money your way in the future.
