Wednesday: Midweek Motivation
Jealousy is a creepy sneaky thing. Just when you think you understand and recognize it… it shows up and BOOM catches you off guard.
Well, today’s inspiration is hidden jealousy.
But seriously, have you ever noticed the most supportive people are those that have already been where you are right now? They gain satisfaction out of seeing you succeed.
Those that criticize you are jealous. OR worse they’re afraid you will “get better” and leave you behind OR WORSE that they’ll have to improve, too.
What ever “their” motivation is, it translates into… criticism.
This is particularly noticeable when you are going along, improving, and succeeding, and then… the person you trust whacks you of at the knees. And you’re wondering “why?”
Some advice says to cut these people out of your life, you need the supportive ones. And that’s great, but not always the route you can take.
But IF you can recognize that the criticism is actually fear of the other person mixed with a bit of jealousy… it “might” help you. Remember only you can control your response, and thus your mood.
