“Out of intense complexities intense simplicities emerge”
Do you remember learning to ride a bike? You started out with training wheels, ok you may have started with a tri-cycle, but let’s jump to training wheels. You peddled fast and wobbled from side to side but you were riding a bike. You trained your mind to understand steering. You learned to brake. You learned to peddle faster.
You also built confidence.
The only thing you did not learn was balance. That was the last thing in the course of learning to ride a bike you needed to master but ultimately it was the first thing you needed to ride the bike without the training wheels.
That last thing you mastered was the first thing you needed. Training wheels allowed you to have confidence, and that confidence gave you time to master the “other things”, and learning the “other things” allowed you to finally use laser focus on balance as the top of the “learning to bike ride” pyramid.
Look at how complex it is to ride a bike, how many things have to come together to make the bike work. Now think of how easy it is… in fact, it’s so incredibly easy that people have a “fall back phrase” that “It’s like learning to ride a bike, once you learn you’ll never forget”
I like to look at your social marketing the same way.
You have social platforms like Facebook or Twitter, you have email and blogging, thrown into the mix of creating your website and passion pages. Maybe you’ll have a little video or a freemium. It seems “intensely complex”…
But you know what?
Take the training wheels off and all you have left is communicating.
Your training wheels are allowing you to build your Infinity Marketing Machine, or in other words the systems and platforms that give you the opportunity to simply talk with your customers.
That’s it. Talk.
Stay on Your Bike, Peddle Faster, Whoosh!
SME + Content/Consistency + Goals/Motivation + Customers = Infinity Marketing Machine
