Monday: Subject Matter Expert
The interesting thing about subject matter expert is to provide information to build trust but at the same time not sounding “over the top” boring.
It’s the difference between listing a bunch of individual awards/titles and listing that you competed 17 years and naming your highest title.
However, the goal is to build trust, this is the way people will buy things from you. When they feel like they know you, they like you, they will trust you… so how do you do that?
Get creative in your history and about me sections.
Today I found a great “About Me” description so I did a screen shot to share it with you. This woman does the obligatory background, however, did it with a twist to get us to know her.
Then she does something remarkable, she picks 10 things she loves.
Now, if you love having a dog on your lap or cookbooks, don’t you think you would immediately bond with this person? You feel like you know her…
This is exactly what you should try to do online.
I saw this and thought… dang, I need to do this. So it’s on my “to do” list. How about you? Are you putting this on your update list, I think it really makes a difference. It’s a spin that gives people the opportunity to bond with you! Let’s both put it on our lists. Lets update our “About Me” pages using the 10 item list!
PS: #10 didn’t fit on my screen with the description at the top — her #10 is Merchandising, so much so that she has to resist organizing store shelves when shopping. haha
